Man seriously injured while changing tire on LIE

A man was seriously hurt when his car was struck after he had pulled over on the Long Island Expressway Friday night.

YAPHANK - A man was seriously hurt when his car was struck after he had pulled over on the Long Island Expressway Friday night.

It happened just past the ramp for Exit 66 in Yaphank.

Police say the man got out of his car to change a tire between the left lane and the center median. Another car struck his vehicle, injuring the man.

The man was airlifted to the hospital.

His identity hasn't been released.
