DEER PARK ? Suffolk police say they have arrested a Huntington Station man for driving while ability impaired by drugs after he was involved in a car crash that seriously injured his passenger.
Cops say Calvin Felder was driving a 1999 Cadillac west on Long Island Avenue in Deer Park at 1:30 a.m. when his vehicle crashed with an SUV. The driver of the SUV was traveling south on Deer Park Avenue.
Felder, 22, of Huntington Station, was treated and released from the hospital. Felder?s passenger, Mark Smith, 22, of Huntington Station, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital, treated and released.
Police have charged Felder with driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlawfully fleeing a police officer. Felder will be held overnight for arraignment in Central Islip tomorrow.
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
