FREEPORT - A Freeport man is looking for a hero who saved him and his puppy from icy waters.

Nick Secchi says he was at Milburn Pond Park in Freeport with his dog when the 12-week-old puppy jumped into the water. Secchi, a certified diver, jumped in after the dog to save her, but he got stuck in two-and-a-half feet of mud.

Someone pulled into the parking lot just in time and called police. He and an officer struggled, but eventually pulled Secchi from the waters.

Now Secchi is hoping to find the man who saved him so that he can thank him.
