RIVERHEAD - Police rescued a man from a burning trailer in Riverhead on Sunday evening.

They responded to the fire at the Oakland Ridge trailer park just before 5 p.m.

Police pushed in a bedroom window air conditioning unit, woke up a resident sleeping inside the smoke-filled room, and pulled him to safety.

Riverhead firefighters rescued the man's dog.
