MASSAPEQUA PARK - An unidentified man was killed in a fast-moving house fire in Massapequa Park overnight.

Officials responded to a fire at the intersection of Van Buren Street and Park Boulevard just after 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses say neighbors did what they could to alert the home's sole resident, but they were not able to save him.

Authorities believe the fire started on the first floor and quickly spread throughout the entire house. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but officials say they do not suspect arson at this time.
