Man dies after being shot in leg

Police say the victim was found early in the morning outside a Center Moriches 7-Eleven with a gunshot wound to the leg.

CENTER MORICHES - A man who was found outside a convenience store with a gunshot wound to his leg has died.

Police responded to a 911 call about the bleeding man around 2:40 a.m. Sunday outside a 7-Eleven on Main Street in Center Moriches. The man had driven himself to the store, according to police.

He was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. His identity is being withheld until his next of kin is notified.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
