TARRYTOWN - (AP) - A former government worker who dangledfor hours from New York's Tappan Zee Bridge has been lowered andtaken on board a boat.

The man had been hanging from a harness attached to a ropeladder Monday about halfway between the Hudson River and the bridgeroadway. He had a sign and apparently was upset with RocklandCounty officials.

State police lowered him to just above the water at around 2p.m. He then jumped or fell into the water and was immediatelyhauled on board a boat.
