FREEPORT - The Freeport man charged in connection with the deadly fire at the Deutche Bank building wants a judge to decide his case.

Cops say Mitchel Alvo is charged with manslaughter. Lawyers for Alvo and the contracting company he works for say their clients do not want a jury to decide their fate.

Alvo and two others are accused of failing to fix, then covering up a break in a vital firefighting water pipe.

Two firefighters were killed in the fire.

A judge is now reviewing the request.
