LYNBROOK - Police say they have arrested a man for threatening to kill a priest at Our Lady of Peace Church in Lynbrook.

Investigators say 57-year-old Victor Tosner wrote a note threatening to kill Father Bill Breslawski and gave it to a female churchgoer to hand off to him.

Detective Sgt. Kenneth Catalani says this wasn't Tosner's first attempt. Catalani says two years ago Tosner handed over notes threatening to kill Breslawski. Tosner was arrested and an order of protection was put in place.

Officials say the last thing they wanted was a repeat of the tragedy that took place at the same exact church in 2002, when two people were shot and killed.

Tosner is expected to be arraigned in court on Friday.
