Man accused of leaving scene of car crash arrested

BAY SHORE - The man who police say left the scene of a crash that injured a Suffolk County police officer has been arrested.

Michael Rossiello, 27, of Bay Shore, has been charged with reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police say Rossiello was also driving without a license.

Rossiello allegedly struck a pole on Connetquot Avenue in North Great River yesterday morning.

According to police, the pole was leaning into the road when a Suffolk officer responded.

The officer ended up hitting the pole and suffering minor injuries.
