Man accused of DWI after car goes airborne into 7-Eleven

BRENTWOOD - Police have arrested a Westbury man accused of driving while intoxicated after his vehicle crashed into the back of a 7-Eleven in Brentwood and seriously injured his 10-month-old daughter and pregnant girlfriend. Police say Jose Escobar, 29, was driving westbound on Express Drive North when he attempted to exit onto Motor Parkway last night.

According to police, Escobar crossed the median and his vehicle went airborne into the back of the store.

Escobar?s passengers have been identified as his 10-month-old daughter, Helen Escobar, and his pregnant girlfriend, Maria Guileen. Both were seriously injured.

Escobar was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
