NORTH WOODMERE - Cops say a Greenport man lost his keys, his temper and then allegedly beat a 74-year-old security guard.

According to investigators, Steven Pirrera lost his keys while shopping at the Five Towns Shopping Center on Rockaway Turnpike in North Woodmere on Saturday.

The security guard tried to help Pirrera open his car but when the security guard couldn't find the keys, Pirrera allegedly pulled the security guard out of his car.

Then cops say Pirrera threw him on the ground and punched him.

Pirrera is now charged with assault.

The security guard is expected to be OK.
