HEMPSTEAD - Police say a Hempstead man was robbed in his own home and was able to turn the tables on the robber.

Eric Candies is accused of holding up a man in his driveway on Old Franklin Street in Hempstead yesterday.

Police say Candies then forced the victim inside his home, put a gun to his head and took his wallet.

According to police, when Candies found more cash in the victim's pocket, the homeowner was able to grab the gun away. Candies took off but was arrested a short time later.
