WOODBURY - A man accused of opening fire on several NYPD officers, including two from Long Island, was arraigned from his hospital bed today, officials say. Nakwon Foxworth is charged with the attempted murder of seven NYPD officers after an April 8 shootout in Brooklyn. Police say Foxworth was holding his pregnant girlfriend and infant son hostage inside in his apartment when he opened fire. Four officers were shot, including NYPD Capt. Al Pizzano, of Smithtown, and officer Matthew Granahan, of Nesconset. They are still recovering. If convicted, Foxworth could face life in prison.
