MT. SINAI - Officials were on the scene of a fire that destroyed a maintenance facility in Mt. Sinai this morning. 

The flames broke out at a town garage on Canal Road just before 9 a.m. According to officials, one truck was destroyed that was located next to the building. However, no other vehicles were inside or nearby at the time of the fire.

All contents inside the building were destroyed, including pumps, generators, trailers and other equipment. It is not clear how much was lost monetarily.

Officials say it took more than an hour to knock the flames down.

There is no word on what sparked the fire.
