RIDGE - A Ridge woman allegedly robbed the Astoria Federal Savings Bank on Middle Country Road Saturday, but she did not get very far, police say.

Authorities arrested Louwanda Jackson, 46, in the bank’s parking lot after she allegedly fled the scene on foot with some cash. She had threatened a bank teller with violence, according to police.

The money from the robbery was recovered.

Jackson is charged with third-degree robbery.
