COMMACK - Long Islanders who were undaunted by Saturday's snow-covered roads spent the day ticking items off their holiday shopping lists.

Jamey Bruell, of Deer Park, had a positively postal approach to holiday shopping. "You gotta buy the Christmas gifts, rain or shine, snow or sleet," he said with a smile.

In Dix Hills, Neil Donelli's family had it good: his wife and daughter went out shopping while he shoveled snow. He didn't seem to mind, though. "I'd much rather do this than be at the mall shopping, that's for sure!" said Donelli, shovel in hand.

Drivers are urged to be cautious on the roads into Sunday.
