Long Islanders flock to radio station's gas giveaway

BOHEMIA - As gas prices continue to climb above $4.00 per gallon, Long Islanders listening to one local radio station this morning got a chance to pick up some free gas-- if they could figure out which station to get it at.

Party 105 is running a gas card giveaway promotion to help Long Islanders beat pain at the pump. A morning DJ leaked clues live on-air about which station listeners could cash in at.

At first, just a few drivers trickled into the Hess station in Bohemia, but before long, dozens of listeners figured it out and cars packed into the station.

Party 105 DJ Matt Goldapper says the station will continue the gas game through May and possibly longer.
