Long Islander starts school to help children in Haiti

WOODBURY - Two years after a devastating earthquake rocked the nation of Haiti, Long Islanders continue to do what they can to help.

News 12 Long Island's Danielle Campbell, and photo-journalists Brian Jingleski and Alain Tingue traveled down to Haiti to see the work of Wings Over Haiti, an organization made up of a group of Long Islanders who help to educate dozens of Haitian children.

Artist Jonathan Glynn, of Sag Harbor, founded Wings Over Haiti in January 2010. Glynn says he spent nearly a month in Haiti following the earthquake but that after he returned to Long Island, he knew in his heart that there was more to be done.

Wings Over Haiti teaches 42 Haitian children from the local community. The team says it is also celebrating the construction of what will be their new school.
