CORAM - Crews across Long Island are preparing for a new blast of winter.
Sand, salters and plows will be put to the test across the Island starting tomorrow night, barely two weeks after the Christmas weekend blizzard that dumped an average of 2 feet of snow across Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Town of Brookhaven officials say the snow budget for 2011 is $3.2 million. For every dollar the town goes over that amount, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Mark Lesko says the town will borrow that money and residents will pay it back - in a note repayment that they'll find on their tax bills.
