LAWRENCE - (AP) -- Police say a toddler has been hospitalized after falling into a swimming pool in Nassau.

Nassau police say the child was pulled from the water around noon Sunday in Lawrence. The child was taken by ambulance to St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway.

Neither police nor the hospital could immediately give the child's condition or age.

Police are investigating the incident.
