Long Island officials and residents fear coastal flooding ahead of snowstorm
LINDENHURST - Officials and residents are worried about coastal flooding and beach erosion as a two-part storm hits Long Island.
Village of Lindenhurst Emergency Manager Ray Fais says he's keeping his eye on the tide. He says streets near the water will likely flood by high tide on Thursday morning.
Workers in Long Beach spent the day shoring up dunes on the beach to protect the city from coastal flooding.

Bayville Mayor Doug Watson says he is watching the weather and has crews at the ready. The village was hit hard during Sandy, and the main road into Bayville is still closed following the superstorm.
