MANHASSET - The iPhone frenzy is sweeping across Long Island today with Apple?s new device hitting stores.

News 12 Long Island was at the Apple store in Mahasset where a man waited in line since 6 a.m. Thursday to be the first to have the prized possession.

One customer told News 12 that the new features make the new phone worth the $700 he spent on it.Apple's fastest selling phone is described as thinner and lighter with a larger screen and faster processor than the 4S.However, the device has a smaller "lightning" connector, requiring a $30 adapter to connect to older cables. Apple has a two-week waiting list for mail orders.
