LONG BEACH - A lawsuit has been filed against a South Shore gym by neighbors fed up with the sounds of working out. Local business owners say CrossFit King of the Beach is too loud. Joe Hamlet, whose investment counseling business shares a wall with the Long Beach gym, says he can hear patrons grunting and dropping heavy weights throughout the day. Some say the noise is so loud that it can be heard from two doors away.Hamlet and several other neighbors have filed a lawsuit against the gym in hopes its owner will install soundproofing. Aside from the noise, some Long Beach residents say they're worried about pedestrian safety because trainers regularly take clients out on the street to exercise with heavy weights in large groups. The gym's owner declined to comment about the suit.
