LONG BEACH - The City of Long Beach has increased some of its fees, leaving many residents annoyed, especially those still recovering from Sandy.

The city has raised garbage collection fees to $575 a year. Parking permits have also been increased from $10 to $50 in three of the overnight parking lots.

A new category has also been added for water usage, with residents using between 12,000 and 150,000 gallons per quarter paying $4.49 for every 1,000 gallons. The city says there has been no change to minimum water usage rates and a little more than half of its residents will not have to pay more.
