UNIONDALE - Long Beach football players are gearing up for the postseason despite major setbacks from Hurricane Sandy. Many of the students at Long Beach Senior High School lost their belongings and the entire team lost its equipment. But with the Nassau County playoffs around the corner, friends and family have been donating to get the team back in working order. Hofstra University donated an indoor facility as a temporary practice space. New equipment has also been handed out by anonymous donors and the Boomer Esiason Foundation. The team will face off against H. Frank Carey High School this Saturday night.
