CENTEREACH - Officials say the lockout at two Centereach schools has been lifted.

Police say they responded to a call for a person with "mental illness." They say there was no specific threat to the school, but the disturbed person was in proximity to the school. For that reason, the school decided to go into lockout mode, police say.

The district received an "all-clear" from police around 3 p.m. and students were dismissed.

Centereach school officials had said earlier that there was a "threatening phone call" that prompted the lockout.
