MINEOLA - Nassau and Suffolk counties will have cooling centers open through Saturday to help residents cope with extremely high temperatures. The centers are being opened in collaboration with the Village of Freeport, Village of Rockville Centre, Town of Oyster Bay, Town of Hempstead and Town of North Hempstead. Nassau County Department of Health heat safety tips

The Suffolk County Office of Emergency Management will be opening a Cooling Center on Friday July 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
