LIRR: Unlicensed driver loses control, plows onto tracks

WYANDANCH - MTA officials say an unlicensed driver caused some serious train troubles for thousands of LIRR commuters this morning.

Chopper 12 was over the scene in Wyandanch when the unidentified 33-year-old lost control of a minivan and plowed through a chain link fence and onto the tracks.

Officials say the minivan damaged about 300 feet of track.

Trains were suspended for a while between Hicksville and Ronkonkoma. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is now facing charges.
