MERRICK - Service was restored on the Babylon and Montauk branches of the Long Island Rail Road after a suspicious package was found at the Merrick train station.

The LIRR says the package was discovered at around 3:20 p.m.

According to LIRR’s Twitter account, service was restored after police activity at the station.
