WOODBURY - Long Islanders who are riding the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) this Christmas Day will shell out a little less cash.

The railroad is on a holiday train schedule today with off-peak fares. Special family fares are also being offered all day: up to four kids between the ages of 5 and 11 can ride for just 75 cents each, and kids under age 5 can ride free.

Meanwhile, Long Islanders flying out west could face big airport delays and cancellations today. About 14 inches of snow is expected in Colorado, which could mean significant trouble for people flying into the Denver area.
