LIRR, MTA unions meet in Manhattan in attempt to avoid strike
The Long Island Rail Road and the MTA met with worker unions in Manhattan Monday in a final attempt to avoid a strike on the LIRR.
The Presidential Emergency Board recently requested raises over six years that would total about 17 percent, which was rejected by the MTA.
If a deal is not reached, the unions could begin striking in July.
