FAR ROCKAWAY - The Long Island Rail Road is operating on or close to schedule following earlier delays due to weather-related problems.

LIRR customers are advised to expect some cancellations and minor delays during this evening's rush hour due to lingering weather-related issues.

The heavy rain is also causing outages across the island. As of 5 p.m., PSEG Long Island is reporting fewer than 1,000 outages.

PSEG Long Island says at the height of the storm, more than 7,500 customers had no electric.
