EAST PATCHOGUE - An East Patchogue couple will be getting a full refund from the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) after receiving bills topping $800 per month.

According to Robert and Elizabeth Rizzo, they had been overpaying for their electricity since moving into their home 10 years ago. They say after unsuccessfully fighting the bill each month, they finally learned they were being charged a higher commercial rate typically used for businesses because their home had once been a model home.

LIPA had fought the couple on a refund, but told News 12 Long Island tonight that it will make up the rate difference.
