NORTH BELLPORT - Dozens of weapons were turned in at a gun buyback event that was held today in Bellport.

More than 80 guns and magazine clips were turned in at the Lighthouse Mission this morning. Police say at least four of those were assault weapons.

The program allows residents to hand over guns and ammo in exchange for cash, no questions asked.

Organizers say $7,500 was paid out using donations that were raised by local officials.
