WOODBURY - President Obama and challenger Mitt Romney faced off for the first time last night in the presidential debates. Many Long Islanders say they were surprised at how strong the candidates performed last night. However, most Long Island voters are giving the latest round of debates to Romney.

One Long Islander says he thought Obama was unprepared.Some experts say Mitt Romney will likely get a boost in the polls after the debate, but there are still two more debates to go. Obama supporters say next time they want to see the president take a more aggressive approach.
