BABYLON - It was another hot and muggy day on Long Island -- the ninth day that temperatures have climbed into the 90s so far this summer, according to News 12 Long Island meteorologist Bill Korbel. Residents slurped up Italian ices and cranked up the AC to try and stay cool. An air quality advisory was issued for all of Long Island today because of the smoggy conditions. Residents were urged to avoid strenous outdoor activities, and to stay hydrated. Temperatures are supposed to be back in the 90s tomorrow, but some relief could come in the evening in the form of storms and showers that are expect to snap the hot streak.
