HEMPSTEAD - Hundreds marched through Hempstead today in honor of the slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Aviation High School Marching Band led the 20th annual procession through the village.

β€œI think this is a good event to bring unity, to bring people together, not one sector, not one race,” said parade organizer Wayman Speight Jr. β€œIt's about all colors, all sexualities. It's about unity.”
