HEMPSTEAD - Business owners say the Islanders' move to Brooklyn's Barclays Center will put a chill on Long Island's economy. Restaurant owner Frank Borelli is one of the many who were upset and aggravated to learn today that the Islanders will be Brooklyn-bound, starting with the 2015 season. Many fear the team will take a ton of business with them. In a statement, Nassau Minority Leader Kevan Abrahams calls the move "an epic failure of leadership at all levels." "We must immediately start working on new ideas for the Hub so that the Coliseum does not sit as a crumbling eyesore for generations," he says. Voters shot down a referendum last year to redevelop the 77-acre Nassau Coliseum property using taxpayers' dollars. Islanders announce move to Barclays Center in Brooklyn
