BAY SHORE - ? A celebration of marriage equality took place on Long Island last night.

The Long Island Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Center hosted the party in Bay Shore.

The celebration was to mark Friday?s historic vote in Albany legalizing same-sex marriage. Next month, New York will become the sixth state to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Supporters say it was a hard fought victory. The group will be meeting with town clerks and lawyers next week to discuss the details of getting married.
