WOODBURY - The movie "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" was a popular family movie in the 1960s and has had an enormous impact on one Long Islander.

For more than 25 years, Tony Garofalo has played the role of John Lennon in the popular Beatles tribute band Strawberry Fields. However, Tony had another obsession with pop culture and the fascination turned into a lifelong dream of building his own Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Tony found a car to use as a base, did most of the reconstruction from memories and pictures, but also had the opportunity to see one of the actual cars used in the movie.

Tony says the main goal for him is making people smile when he drives the car.
