LI woman linked to UK man through transplant miracle

LINDENHURST - A Long Island woman is now perpetually bound to a man from Ireland thanks to a selfless decision by her deceased son. Lindenhurst native Steven Valsechi was living in Belfast, Ireland in 2010 when he slipped off his balcony and fell to his death. His family agreed to donate the 26-year-old's organs. Several months after his death, Valsechi's mother, Margaret, received a letter from a man in the United Kingdom who had been suffering from congestive heart failure. He was the recipient of Valsechi's heart and reached out to offer thanks. Margaret speaks to the man, Bobby, every night via Skype. And 10 months ago, he and his fiancee welcomed a baby boy.
