WOODBURY - All eyes are on Hurricane Irene as the storm pounds the Bahamas and continues its way toward the East Coast.
News 12 Long Island Meteorologist Bill Korbel says dangerous conditions are possible for Sunday, including heavy rain and gusty winds between 40-80 mph. In addition, beach erosion and coastal flooding could be expected.
Weather officials say the next 36-48 hours are critical in determining the storm's course and whether it will be a direct hit, or just a major dousing.
