MASSAPEQUA - Low-lying areas throughout Long Island experienced some flooding last night as a powerful storm made its way across the region.
Many residents said the storm knocked around items all over their backyards and LIPA reported scattered power outages.
Residents in low-lying or coastal areas were on alert for flooding associated with the storm and high winds.
A wind advisory was in effect through this morning, with wind gusts expected to reach as much as 50 mph.
