HUNTINGTON - A Vietnam War veteran from Huntington says nearly three years after a snowplow hit his car during a storm, he has yet to be reimbursed for the damage.

Kenneth Thompson says he complained to the Town of Huntington and filed damage claims, but after going to court six times, he learned the plow was owned by a private contractor.

Town officials told Thompson he needed to contact the contractor's insurance company to be reimbursed for the $5,000 repair bill. However, Thompson says the contractor told him he doesn't plow his neighborhood.

News 12 Long Island reached out to the contactor, who said he wasn't plowing in Thompson's neighborhood that day. The contractor claims that the town's records were wrong, but town officials insist their information is accurate.

Thompson says he has spent $300-$400 on new tail lights and wiring after the incident. He says he needs the money to get his car completely repaired.
