BOHEMIA - A Long Island sex offender has been taken into custody after allegedly failing to register his address. Authorities say Anthony Purificato, 45, had been living in a Department of Social Services trailer in Riverhead, but was recently located at a Bohemia storage facility after a six-month disappearance. Purificato was originally convicted of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl in 1996. Investigators say this is not the first time Purificato has gone into hiding. He was convicted on the same charges three times between 2009 and 2011. Police say in all three cases he was found to be living in a storage facility.
