HUNTINGTON - A competitive sailor from Huntington is getting ready for the biggest race of his life: the London 2012 Olympic Games. Erik Storck has been a sailing enthusiast since he was just a boy. He's already won several awards, including silver and bronze medals at the World Cup in Australia. Now, he's looking to take home a gold medal to add to his collection. The two finished ninth at the World Championships in December and are ranked 24th in the world. Along with his teammate, Trever Moore, Storck skippers a super-fast boat he calls the Ferrari of sailing. Storck says he's hoping their slick, speedy boat will lead them to first place.News 12 Long Island Special: Long Island OlympiansNesconset athlete steps closer to her dreamShelter Island sailor going for gold in London OlympicsSyosset native competing for gold medal No. 3LI woman sets sail for London Olympic Games
