CENTEREACH - The Long Islander dubbed the 'Red-light Robin Hood' says he will be launching a political run. 

Stephen Ruth, of Centereach, plans to run for state Senate. 

As News 12 has reported, Ruth was arrested after posting a video of himself on Facebook teaching drivers how to disable red light cameras in Ronkonkoma. 

Ruth says he wants to ultimately end the red light camera program. 

Ruth is now collecting signatures to run against state Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan of East Northport.
