SYOSSET - For the sixth time this season, road crews across Long Island loaded plows with salt and sand in preparation for more snow.

At the Oyster Bay Town Yard in Syosset, workers say it's becoming a routine since the post-Christmas blizzard dumped nearly 2 feet of snow in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

According to Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, crews have a difficult job this time around because snow and ice still linger on roadways from previous storms.

Venditto says snowplow operators will have to pay extra attention not to damage equipment or the roads.
