LI pizzeria goes the distance for the Giants

The New York Giants may be miles away from home, but that doesn't mean they can't enjoy their favorite slices from a New Hyde Park

NEW HYDE PARK - The New York Giants may be miles away from home, but that doesn't mean they can't enjoy their favorite slices from a New Hyde Park pizzeria.

Umberto's Pizzeria kept its Friday tradition of sending pizzas to the Giants, even though they're in Indianapolis gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday.

Umberto's manager Gaetano Corteo flew in his shop's famous pies so the Giants could feel at home as they get ready to take on the Patriots.

The pies had a police escort as they made their way to the airport this morning. News 12 Long Island's Kevin Maher was there when the pizzas came off the plane.
